What is eduroam ?

Eduroam is like a special Wi-Fi that works internationally. It helps people in research, college, and other educational stuff to use the internet when they're at a different school or place. So, if a researcher, teacher, or student goes to another institution, they can still connect to the internet using eduroam. For more info, please click here.

Who can use eduroam ?

Students can use eduroam at their own university and also when they visit other universities worldwide. If visitors or academics come to a university that's part of eduroam, they can connect to the Wi-Fi there too.

Where can you connect to eduroam ?

Eduroam is available throughout the University and in some outdoor locations. You can see the University wireless coverage page for more information.

Is Eduroam safe to use?

Eduroam keeps your data secure when you're using Wi-Fi, using special encryption and authentication. But, be aware that the safety rules of the place you're visiting also apply to you when you're connected to their wired network. For example, the things you can do on the internet might be limited compared to when you're at your home institution.

What is an SSID?

SSID stands for Service Set Identifier. It's the name that shows which wireless network you're connected to. Some vendors also call it the "Network Name." Choose eduroam to connect to the secure network after setting up the software initially.

Can I use my smartphone on the wireless network?

Yes. Refer to the following tutorials to learn how to set up your device:
